Blood Bank Specialist Jobs

Blood bank specialist jobs operate in blood bank or transfusion centers and collect blood donations, perform tests, and oversee all aspects of blood collection and management. Working in different types of settings, an individual with a blood bank specialist job may need to be available for night duty, emergency calls, and weekend calls.

A 12 month educational program at an accredited school is the minimum educational requirement for prospective job seekers. Some educational institutions may offer a 24 month long program that results in a master's degree. A bachelor's degree with a major in biological or physical sciences from an accredited college or university is required for job seekers that are not certified in medical technology by the Board of Registry.
