Exercise Science Jobs

Exercise science jobs encompass a variety of disciplines including but not limited to exercise physiology and sport psychology. Professionals with exercise science jobs must examine each of their clients and develop a unique plan of treatment techniques and closely monitor their progress.

The majority of these professionals have achieved their certification to fit their intended discipline of work. On some occasions, the employer may give some organizational training to introduce employer operations but for the most part on the job training is not implemented. Before becoming certified, attaining a bachelor's degree in exercise science or physical education is also now common for those pursing a career in a health or exercise related field.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, it is projected that a 29 percent increase in employment is expected over the 2008 to 2018 decade. This rate of employment is much is faster than the national average for all occupations with the demand attributed to several factors. An aging population and growing concern over health will increase the need for qualified health and fitness professionals.
